NHDES Emergency Drought Assistance Program
January 20, 2026
The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) announced it will reopen a program to help low-income homeowners experiencing issues with their water supply resulting from the ongoing drought. The Emergency Drought Assistance Program is a response to widespread reports of dried-up wells following the driest summer on record. As climate change barrels forward, drought-conditions are expected to grow in frequency. \
